Good Friday

One of the most crucial events in Christianity commemorated around the world. The one and only begotten Son of God who came down from heaven to earth to save mankind. Good is defined as "Holy" in the Old English language.

This time of the year we honor the work of the cross and the death of Jesus Christ. He accepted the punishment of being falsely accused. Willingly suffered the beatings, mocked, whipped , spit on, ridiculed while carrying a wooden cross which He would be nailed on. The estimated weight of the cross was about 100 pounds. He remained on the cross for about 6 hours in agony, crucial pain, sweating which turned into blood. Around noon, darkness covered the land for three hours before He took His last breath. The veil of the temple was torn in two and there was an earthquake.

Matthew 27:46 KJV-And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

He gave His life as a sacrifice to pay for our sins. That we may have life and life more abundantly. To save us from the penalty of death which is eternal damnation. Praise God for what He has already done!

John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Romans 6:23 KJV

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
