A farmer sows seeds into the ground in preparation for the growing season ahead. As the seeds leaves his hands and goes into the ground, he anticipates a return. The farmer may be reluctant but if he holds onto his seeds but how will they grow? The farmer hopes there will be enough rain for his crops to grow. The growing crops will yield a harvest to feed himself, family and sell to a local grocer and/or farmers market.
Many believers get offended when a church or ministry ask a believer to sow a seed. If you are sowing into good ground, you will reap bountifully. Have faith that when you sow, you can expect that the Lord will increase you. Some would also argue that because it is in the Old Testament we don't have to sow or tithe. We may not be bound to the old written law but there is a spiritual law.
A pastor once said that Jesus has many positions and one of them is being a farmer. With Him being a farmer we know there would never be a bad harvest.
We sow our time into school to obtain an education that reaps a certificate or degree.
We sow our time at a job that reaps a paycheck, benefits, 401k etc.
We sow our money on entertainment that reaps good time and laughter.
But after those thrills are gone, can we say that we've sowed into His kingdom?
Reaping does not always have to be in monetary forms but comes in other ways. Health, wealth, opportunities, business growth and much more. SOW that you may REAP for what the Lord has for you!
