HIDE THE WORD!

 

Psalm 119:11 KJV-Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.

In our modern world, we are required to keep so many things in our heart and memory. From bank account numbers, ATM pins, email passwords, login information for work, grocery lists and more. 

The psalmist discovered the importance of hiding the Word in his heart. One reason was to have it readily available whenever needed. Secondly, it is also a spiritual defense against sin. True enough we do still have a sinful nature but we can also avoid some of the old sins the enemy tries to tempt us with. 

One good practice is to memorize a verse or two each week. As time proceeds, you will have so many scriptures hidden in your heart.
