MAKING DISCIPLES

Matthew 28:19 KJV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The Great Commission was given to the disciples to go out into the world. The first century church made amazing headway and also suffered persecution. Yet the still answered the call. Here we are thousands of years later and they are still be talked about. Has God called and commissioned you to go and make disciples?

HIDE THE WORD!

Psalm 119:11 KJV-Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee. In our modern world, we are required to keep so many things in our heart and memory. From bank account numbers, ATM pins, email passwords, login information for work, grocery lists and more.  The psalmist discovered the importance of hiding the Word in his heart. One reason was to have it readily available whenever needed. Secondly, it is also a spiritual defense against sin. True enough we do still have a sinful nature but we can also avoid some of the old sins the enemy tries to tempt us with.  One good practice is to memorize a verse or two each week. As time proceeds, you will have so many scriptures hidden in your heart.

FORGIVENESS OF SINS-1 John 1:9

Our sinful nature separates us from having the right relationship with God. Before Jesus came to earth in Old Testament Biblical times, only the priest could enter into the Holy of Holies. Since His birth, death and resurrection, we have the privilege of coming into His presence personally.  Of course, the Lord still loves us but it is the sin He hates. No matter what we've done, where we've been or if we find ourselves in the wrong type of situations, He is right there ready to forgive if we confess. You don't have to walk around with your head down hanging on to guilt and shame. He is the One who still forgives and cleanses by His shed blood.

TRUSTING GOD

Think of a time when you were really scared. Many of us can attest to being fearful or scared when we receive some bad news over a personal situation, family member or a child. In that moment, being afraid comes to mind rather than scripture. Fear is a natural human reaction and as believers we are not immune to fear.  Our conscience will tell us to react rather than pray. But God has made us so many promises in this life for us to overcome being afraid. Next time you are faced with an unfavorable obstacle or hurdle, recite this verse in your heart.  Psalm 56:3 NKJV Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

CONTINUE TO PRAY

Our day should begin with prayer. In the middle of our day we should pray. Our evening should end with prayer.  This Bible verse says to continue in prayer as well as watch with thanksgiving. There are things going on around us that we are unaware of. The Lord provides safety and protection as a shield. Like the good father He is, He also wants us to commune with Him in the midst of a busy day.  Give Him thanksgiving throughout your day as time passes. Make an effort to thank Him for what He has already done and will continue to do.  Colossians 4:2 KJV Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

Neighbor-Greek word πλησίος (plesios) means “near” or “close to.”  Most of us have experienced neighbors who are friendly and greet you when passing by. They may even ask to borrow sugar, milk or flour. And then there are some who walk past you without speaking or avoid making eye contact.  We may no longer live in the times where when someone moves in, you bake some cookies or bring over a dish. But simply sharing a warm smile and extending the same grace goes much further.  You may not know every detail about your neighbor but still love them as you love yourself.  Shalom 💙

HELL IS REAL!

Why have so many pastors stopped teaching about hell? Not to glorify it but to teach and warn people that this is a real place. The Lord created hell for Satan and his demons, yet souls are burning in hell. We are given a choice in life to serve God and be in His marvelous light. Or serve the devil and be blinded by the kingdom of darkness. Hollywood has made it a point to glorify hell, the dead, and witches through movies and sitcoms while making billions of dollars. When I got saved, my pastor at that time was teaching and warning us about hell. Today there are even Bible "teachers" saying that no souls are in hell until final judgment. This is not true. Please DO NOT BE DECEIVED! Matthew 10:28 KJV- And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ***Testimony from a former Atheist***
